Three Erasmus Mundus Masters Celebrate Graduations Across Europe

This June marked a milestone moment for three of our Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees (EMJMDs) in the field of film and media, as students from across the globe gathered to celebrate their graduation from Kino Eyes, RE:Anima, and DocNomads.

On June 19, the Kino Eyes – The European Film Masters celebrated the graduation of its ninth edition in Tallinn, Estonia, bringing together students, faculty, and family to honor a new generation of filmmakers. Over the past two years, Kino Eyes students studied in Portugal, Scotland, Ireland, and Estonia, developing skills in directing, producing, writing, cinematography, editing and sound design.

Two days earlier, on June 17, students of the RE:Anima – European Joint Master in Animation held their graduation ceremony in Espoo, Finland. Known for its focus on artistic innovation and cross-cultural storytelling, RE:Anima graduates leave the programme having studied and produced animation work in Belgium, Portugal, and Finland—equipped to contribute to both the creative industries and research in animated media.

Finally, on June 29, the DocNomads – Joint Master Degree in Documentary Film Directing concluded its academic journey with a graduation in Belgium, celebrating its latest cohort of documentary filmmakers. This unique master encourages students to explore the documentary form while rotating between Lisbon, Budapest, and Brussels, offering rich cultural and professional exposure across three European capitals.

All three Erasmus Mundus programmes exemplify the values of international collaboration, academic excellence, and artistic innovation that define the Erasmus Mundus initiative. With graduates coming from dozens of countries, these masters not only foster the next generation of film and media professionals but also reinforce the role of culture in building a more connected and inclusive Europe.
