Lusófona University Secures EIT Funding for New Master’s course in Audiovisual Media
Lusófona University has announced the approval and funding of a new international master’s course in Audio-Visual Media under the 2025 Education Call of EIT Culture & Creativity (CCSI KIC).
The EIT labeled course, titled BYTE – FILM (Bridging Young Talent and Entrepreneurship in the Film and Audio-Visual Industries), positions Lusófona University as the project leader and brings together a distinguished European consortium of academic and industry partners.
BYTE – FILM is designed to equip emerging professionals with advanced entrepreneurial skills tailored to the evolving audiovisual landscape. The course places particular emphasis on leveraging disruptive technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and extended reality (XR), fostering innovation-driven creativity and supporting the development of new business models across Europe’s film and audiovisual sectors.
The master’s course is developed in collaboration with a broad network of partners that take part in the FilmEU - European Universities Alliance For Film and Media Arts including:
- SP Televisão S.A. (Portugal)
- Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design & Technology (Ireland)
- Baltic Film, Media and Arts School Tallinn University (Estonia)
- LUCA School of Arts (Belgium)
- Lithuania Academy of Music and Theater (Lithuania)
This collaboration strengthens cross-border academic exchange while deepening ties between higher education institutions and industry stakeholders. By integrating technological innovation with creative practice, the programme aims to prepare graduates to lead and transform Europe’s audiovisual industries.

BYTE – FILM will serve as a strategic platform to bridge young talent with entrepreneurial ecosystems, ensuring that graduates are not only creatively skilled but also capable of launching and sustaining innovative ventures within a rapidly evolving digital environment.
