International Best Animation ‘School’ Award for RE:Anima at Animafest Zagreb 2026

Following a series of international distinctions for students and alumni, the programme itself is now being honoured: the European Joint Master RE:Anima will receive the prestigious Best Animation School Award at Animafest Zagreb 2026 in June.
This award confirms the programme’s strong international position and highlights the quality of animation education.
Animafest Zagreb, taking place from 8 to 13 June 2026, is one of the oldest and most renowned animation festivals in the world. Within its extensive student competition, the Best Animation School Award is granted to the programme presenting the most consistent and high-quality body of student films. The award does not recognise a single individual film but rather the strength of the programme as a whole: artistic vision, originality, technical mastery, and talent development.

This award follows a series of international successes by our alumni. Our films are selected and awarded at festivals worldwide, including ANIMA (Brussels), Caminhos do Cinema Português, and various international animation and immersive festivals, including Venice Immersive 2025, part of the Venice Film Festival.
This collective recognition at Animafest Zagreb marks an important milestone: for the first time, not only individual works but the entire programme is being honoured.

Within the sector, the Best Animation School Award is regarded as an important mark of quality. The prize confirms that RE:Anima provides a strong creative environment in which emerging talent can develop into innovative and internationally relevant creators.
For us, this recognition reaffirms their commitment to providing boundary-pushing, international, and research-driven arts education.
