From November 10 to 12, Lusófona University in Lisbon hosted the FilmEU Industry Summit 2025, organized in partnership with the LEFFEST – Lisbon Film Festival. The event brought together experts, academics, and industry professionals to discuss the future of creative industries, fostering knowledge exchange and networking.
Over three days, participants explored topics such as emerging trends in the audiovisual sector, virtual production, and artificial intelligence applied to cinema. Highlights included case studies on post-production for major productions like Thor: Ragnarok, led by Cynthia Collins, the AGORA AI Position Paper Presentation, and debates on the challenges and opportunities technology brings to cinematic storytelling.
The program also featured with LEFFEST Talks, film conversations with acclaimed filmmakers, including Christian Petzold and Clément Cogitore, offering unique insights into contemporary cinema and creative processes.
In addition, the summit celebrated creativity and innovation through awards for participants of the FilmEU Changemaker, FiHub program and the FilmEU Film Festival, recognizing outstanding projects that push boundaries in storytelling and technology.
The summit reaffirmed FilmEU’s commitment to pedagogical innovation and collaboration between academia and industry, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and preparing professionals for a constantly evolving sector.
