FilmEU finalist in Irish Education Awards 2024

We are delighted to announce that FilmEU and IADT’s FilmEU team have been selected as a finalist for the ‘Best International Collaboration Project’ category of The Education Awards 2024.

This category recognizes international collaboration projects that have resulted in high levels of enrichment and growth between participating organisations in education over the past 12 months.

FilmEU – the European Universities Alliance for Film and Media Arts – is dedicated to promoting high-level education, innovation, and research activities in the multidisciplinary field of Film and Media Arts. Originating in 2020, FilmEU now boasts a consortium of eight esteemed Higher Education Institutions from across Europe and is led by Lusófona University (Portugal). The FilmEU Alliance aims to consolidate Europe’s central role as a world leader in the cultural and creative industries.

IADT’s FilmEU Team is proud to be part of this international collaboration. Being shortlisted is a great honour and acknowledges the National Film School and IADT’s key involvement in the European University Alliance initiative FilmEU since its beginning. It also recognises the variety of projects and international collaboration activities related to FilmEU and how this engagement has benefitted students, staff and researchers within Irish Education and across Europe.

In its 8th year, the annual Education Awards celebrate excellence in the third level education sector on the island of Ireland. Entries are reviewed by an expert judging panel and the awards are run by BusinessRiver and sponsored by Amárach Research and The Irish Times. The Awards Gala will be held at the Killashee Hotel in Kildare on April 25th.
