The FilmEU Film Festival 2026, hosted by LUCA School of Arts from 23–25 June in Brussels, celebrated the creativity, diversity, and artistic excellence of emerging filmmakers from across the FilmEU Alliance and its international partners. Building on the success of its inaugural edition in Sofia in 2025, the festival presented three evenings of curated screenings featuring fiction, documentary, animation, dance, and experimental films. The programme showcased works by students from all eight FilmEU partner institutions, including the alliance's Joint Master's programmes, alongside a selection of outstanding films submitted through the festival's open call and entries from collaborating institutions in Ukraine and Armenia. Beyond the screenings, the festival provided a platform for intercultural exchange, networking, and dialogue between students, academics, and film professionals, reinforcing FilmEU's commitment to supporting the next generation of European audiovisual talent. As part of the FilmEU Summit 2026, the festival concluded with an awards ceremony recognising exceptional student achievements: Hot Flush, directed by Hana Hančinová (VSMU), received the First Prize; Prayer, directed by Sofia Geweiler (Kino Eyes EMJMD), won the Second Prize; How to Listen to Fountains, directed by Eva Sajanová (VSMU), received the Third Prize; and the Audience Award was presented to Glitter Kiss, directed by Augustė Gerikaitė (LMTA).
