FilmEU Talks - 6th December - How to build and sustain a genre film festival in a country with no genre film tradition?

We're thrilled to have João Monteiro as our special guest for a Filmeu Talk on December 6th! With a degree in Art History from the FCSH of Universidade Nova de Lisboa, João Monteiro has been a driving force in the world of cinema and horror. He's the founder of CTLX - Cineclube de Terror de Lisboa and the visionary behind MOTELX - Lisbon International Horror Film Festival.

In 2018, João directed the award-winning documentary "Nos Interstícios da Realidade ou o Cinema de António de Macedo." His commitment to the world of horror and Portuguese cinema is truly commendable. Notably, in 2022, he, along with Filipa Rosário, co-edited the book "O Quarto Perdido do MOTELX - Os Filmes do Terror Português (1911-2006)" (The Lost Room of MOTELX - Portuguese Horror Films (1911-2006)).
