Maria Averina

Maria Averina is a documentary film director. Studied Slavic Philology at the St Kliment Ohridski Sofia University. Holds an MA degree in Directing in Film and TV Art from the New Bulgarian University. Alumna of Sarajevo Talent Campus 2010, Berlinale Talent Campus 2013. Masters degree in Documentary by Practice at Royal Holloway, University of London with main tutor – Marc Issacs. Completed a PhD in editing of archives at National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts “Kr. Sarafov ”(NATFA) in Sofia. Maria Averina is an assistant professor at NATFA since 2018. Maria is a member of The Union of Bulgarian Filmmakers.
