SAVE THE DATES! Research opportunities

“Imagination is the highest form of research.”

Albert Einstein

What opportunities?

FilmEU brings together 8 European higher education institutions to collaborate around the common objective of jointly promoting artistic research, innovation and educational activities in the multidisciplinary field of Film and Media Arts and, through this collaboration, consolidate the central role of Europe as a world leader in the creative fields. This month FilmEU launches several new calls for our researchers to work together involving groupings of its staff and students across the participating institutions.

Why collaboration?

With a core of internationalization, a FilmEU cluster offers diverse perspectives when collaborating with researchers from different cultural backgrounds and expertise bringing fresh perspectives to your research and enhance the quality and impact of your work. This diversity can lead to innovative solutions, new approaches, and a more comprehensive understanding of complex issues and pressing challenges. A FilmEU cluster also expands your resources and learning opportunities; pooling resources such as equipment, facilities, funding opportunities, and personnel amplifies your research capabilities and learning opportunities to allow you to develop new skills, gain exposure to different research methodologies, and broaden your expertise. Finally, collaborative clusters allow you to establish connections and build relationships with other researchers, institutions, and organizations. These networks can lead to future collaborations, funding opportunities, and career advancement.

How can we help?

If you are interested in collaborating with FilmEU researchers, we can help you explore the network.

For FilmEU researchers to understand the expertise that is present in the FilmEU Alliance, we set up a mapping tool to define your profile as a researcher. This tool will help us map the different areas of interest and expertise and will guide the matchmaking event amongst FilmEU researchers. You can find the form to profile yourself here or use the QR code below!

An online Seminar on Artistic Research will offer you a practical introduction to Artistic Research as it has been explored within the FilmEU Alliance. Besides guidance and inspiration for areas to explore intersections of creativity, artistry and research, the seminar will give the floor to an array of FilmEU_RIT scholars and artists forged pathways in artistic research in the original FilmEU_RIT research pilots.

Finally, the matchmaking event is a hands-on opportunity for you to meet, listen and pitch ideas in smaller thematic groups defined by an analysis of the existing research interest in the FilmEU Alliance. The on-line event allows you to explore the network and work creatively on the first seeds for an application answering the call for proposals for new Dynamic Clusters in FilmEU.
