Elke Van Damme

Graduated as a social worker and a master in communication sciences, Elke pursued a PhD within the field of communication sciences. She successfully defended this PhD in 2013, after which she left Ghent and started working in the dynamic city of Brussels. Elke teaches the courses Cultural Studies and Writing and Research Skills at Luca School of Arts. She is also a thesis supervisor within the master of animation, the international coordinator of the audiovisual arts department, study career coordinator and the ombudsperson for the Visual and Audiovisual Arts Department in Brussels. Her research focuses on gender, sexuality, diversity, representations and stereotyping. She is also interested in how representational practices influence the audience.
