Edmundo Cordeiro completed his PhD in Communication Sciences in 2003. He is Associate Professor and Researcher (Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias, CICANT). Currently, teaches film theory, film aesthetics and script writing. He published «Actos de Cinema» (Angelus Novus, Coimbra, 2005), on the aesthetics of Gilles Deleuze, and completed a post-doctoral research about the filmmakers Pierre Perrault and Pedro Costa, at Université de Montréal (Canada) and at Universidade Nova de Lisboa, which was published in the book «Pedro Costa e Pierre Perrault. Intercessão, Força Ficcional, Força Documental» (Creative Space/Amazon, Lisboa, 2013). He also published «Géneros Cinematográficos» (Edições Universitárias Lusófona, 2007).
He directed the film «Todas as Cartas de Rimbaud» (2017), about the Portuguese philosopher Maria Filomena Molder, and was ‘script-doctor’ for the film “O Capacete Dourado” and screenwriter for “Na Escola”, “O Rebocador”, and “Amor Amor”, directed by Jorge Cramez (2007, 2010, 2014 and 2016).
